The staff at Manningham Hearing Clinic
Previously known as Acoustic Prescriptions and practicing in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne for more than 20 years, we opened a new clinic in November 2006, located in the Balwyn East Shopping Centre.
Ian Skipworth established this private practice in 1988 with the mission statement; to provide the best possible hearing health care service that current technology makes available. This statement is just as relevant today as the advances in digital hearing aid technology continue in leaps and bounds.
We focus on providing a thorough and professional hearing care service while keeping in touch with the latest in digital hearing aid technology. Our modern audiological equipment is serviced and calibrated regularly so you can be assured of the most accurate results.

Manningham Hearing Clinics Code of Practice:
- We hold to the code of practice of the Australian College of Audiology (ACAud) and Audiology Australia (ASA) respectively. Our clinicians are members of either and/or both professional bodies and hold current competency certificates.
- Our clinicians are salaried and not paid by commission.
- Our hearing health care service is provided on a needs basis that includes the prescription and fitting of hearing aids.
- We prescribe a number of recognised different brands of hearing aids based on clinically evaluated outcomes.
- The benefit of hearing aids varies depending on the features offered. We will advise you of realistic expectations based on your preference and needs.
- We recognise that hearing aids do not provide normal hearing but we assure you that our clinical support in achieving realistic outcomes.
- Hearing aids vary in price and the most expensive hearing aid is not always the best choice.
